Was 12091 scrapped at Derby Works?

12091 was withdrawn in June 1970 whilst based at Crewe North.  Disposal listings  generally give its disposal as Derby Works. This is likely because they have used ‘The Railway Observer’ of March 1972 (p95).

Whilst scrapping at Derby Works is likely having been last seen there on 19th December 1971 and never again, either at Derby or elsewhere, it is known that other locomotives recorded scrapped at Derby Works went elsewhere.  For further details see Derby Works Scrappings on the RCTS website.
