Which Rotherham scrap yard, if any, was D2312 scrapped at?

D2312 was withdrawn in February 1968 whilst based at Gateshead. Disposal listings generally give its disposal as being to Slag Reduction Company, Ickles, Rotherham.  The source probably being ‘The Railway Observer ‘ of December 1968 (p.425) which lists D2312 along with D2311 and D2314 as disposals there in August 1968.

No sightings of D2312 at Rotherham have though been traced.  However, D2311 & D2314 were observed at Holmes Yard, Masborough, Rotherham on 20th August 1968 and in Ickles Sidings, Rotherham on 28th September 1968.  This suggesting that D2312 might not have followed the same course.

‘Locomotive Directory’  shows the disposal as Slag Reduction Company in August 1968 (p.37).  However in Supplement 3 (p.1) it says “D2312 to Booth 12/68 & cut up 12/68, not to Slag Reduction 8/68”.  This does suggest dispatch from Gateshead was delayed and consequently it was consigned to a different yard for scrapping.

Sightings of D2312 after withdrawal would be particularly useful in establishing what exactly were the movements of D2312 in 1968 and where it actually met its fate.
